Ramblers Suffer the Blues in Memphis

Primus vs Memphis Blues

The Ramblers traveled to play this Memphis Blues this weekend with a combination of starters and rookies. On a beautiful Saturday afternoon the Ramblers looked to be in good form with a lot of time spent in the Blues have, however the story of the day was Rambler mistakes being heavily punished by some strong running of the Memphis Blues, particularly their #8 and scrum half. 

The Ramblers saw tries from second row Chris Wiggins from a rolling maul, from wing Chad “Mac” McDermott, who took a weak side play from a ruck to score from 40 meters out (he says 50 meters).  Man of the Match, Chris Hrdina (again!), had another stand out game and a strong run was cut short only for Eric Livingston to pick up the ball and score from 3 meters out. Hrdina did finally score a well deserved try as described by him “I scored off a Budweiser on one of my badass signature runs but I was more proud of the sweet spin move I put on one of the Memphis guys earlier in the game.........................but since we lost and I separated my shoulder and I can't play next week in our league game neither really matter all that much.”

So as you can see a tough loss both in points and personnel. 

Although the Ramblers did not take the win they stuck at the game and were in the Blues half for much of the last 20 minutes, however strong goal line defense kept the Ramblers at bay.  Other standout performances were Adam, our rookie prop who gave his all for a good 50 minutes of the game.

A fun court session followed and a good night on the town was had.

In other news from around the league, Omaha maintains their dominance in the league with a convincing 52-10 win over KCRFC to go 4 for 4 and earn maximum points.  KCRFC also played Springfield the previous weekend and won that one 25-12 and receiving a bonus point.
