Secundus vs Fort Wood
Secundus narrow loss to disciplined Marauders
Immediately after the Primus game the Secundus team took to the field against Ft Wood Marauders.
The Ramblers scored first with #8 and captain Eric Livingston picking up from the back of a ruck to score from 22 meter outs. Asked to comment on his try Eric said “Like the other tries I score, it was unbelievable!”
A lack of experience and discipline saw the Maurauders come back 10 minutes later with an unconverted try, which was repeated 10 minutes further one. 7-10 at the half. The army side showed great discipline at the breakdown and a strong line defense kept the Ramblers at bay for most of the first half.
The second half saw a more disciplined Rambler side, however the Marauders scored the only try of the half and despite a spirited fight back, with the assistance of old boy Rich Etzkorn, the Maurauders went home with the win 7-15. Special mention goes to Man of the Match Jeff Bosaw, who read the game beautifully and seemed to be involved in almost every play. Tony Moore gets a special mention for his hard hitting tackling, despite it resulting in a yellow card.
